Description of token or credential status

Resolution

New:  The credential has never been used in the account.  In an account that is not enabled for sharing credentials, this state indicates that the credential was loaded, but was never used.  In an account that is sharing credentials in the VIP Network, this state indicates that a credential was never used in the respective account, although it may be in use in other accounts.

Enabled:  The credential is in active use in the account and is available for validation.

Disabled:  The credential is in active use in the account but is currently unavailable for validation. This state is set voluntarily by administrative procedure, for example, if the credential is lost.

Locked:  The credential is in active use in the account but is currently unavailable for validation. This state is set automatically by the system based on account settings for validation.

Inactive: The credential was previously in active use in the account, but it is no longer available for validation.  In an account that is not enabled for sharing credentials, this state indicates that the credential is not currently in active use in the account.  If the credential is in working condition and it is recovered, it can be re-assigned for active use; if the credential is damaged, it can be discarded. In an account that is sharing credentials in the {VIP.EN_US} Network, this state indicates that the credential is no longer in use in the respective account, although it may continue to be used in other accounts.
