NS7: The only significant difference between NS6 and NS7 is where the settings are located, other than that the setup and how they function are 100% Identical. The Purging maintenance for Notification Server 7 is located at:
Click Settings > Notification Server > Purging Maintenance.
Click on the "Configuration" Tab
Expand "Server Settings"
Expand "Notification Server Settings"
Select "Purging Maintenance"
Add the desired time frame
Where it says "Purge managed computers that have not checked in for..." Put in a time frame, and put a check in the box.
NOTE: This will affect all machines that have not checked in. So if you have laptops that are out in the field, and only check in once a month or so you need to take that into consideration when you are purging your data.
Click Apply at the bottom of the screen
Click The "Purge now" Button. Note: If you have never run the purge before this can take a while.
You can monitor the task from windows scheduled tasks.
Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks > Look for 'NS.purge Maintenance' if it is not Running. Right click it and select run now, and wait for it to complete.
