Capture network activity so that support can analyze the network traffic related to unexpected behavior from the Symantec Web Gateway (SWG) appliance.
To record a network packet capture with Web Gateway versions 5.1 and later
Within the SWG UI, navigate to Administration> Configuration.
If you know the IP addresses of the machines which exhibit the behavior, check "Filter Traffic Capture", then select either AND or OR as the Filter operator, then type the IP addresses in "Filter IP addresses", separated by commas.
Click Start Capture.
Reproduce the behavior.
Click Stop Capture.
Click Download Capture Files.
Navigate to the folder where you want to store the archive, specify the Filename, then click Save.
For earlier versions of SWG appliance, a Symantec support technician can record network traffic via a Remote Assistance case.
