When installing PGP Desktop on a Lenovo computer, after rebooting the system when the initial installation of PGP Desktop is complete, the installation hangs at the User Type selection screen during the PGP Setup Assistant. The installation cannot continue and the PGP Tray icon is also unresponsive.
The IBM Thinkpad Client Security Solution is a program that controls the embedded security chip in the Lenovo Thinkpad PC's. This is used for security measures such as encrypting the disk, and fingerprint authentication for the system.
As soon as this software is installed, PGP is not able to contact the license server (PGP License wizard hangs) and the LSP seems to break the IBM CSS core service (tvttcsd.exe).
To workaround this issue, try temporarily uninstalling or disabling the Lenovo Password Manager/Client Security Solution and restart the installation of PGP Desktop.
