When attempting to encrypt your system with PGP Whole Disk Encryption, you receive an error stating there is full disk encryption software installed.
This issue can appear on computers when registry settings remain from a previous installation of the SafeBoot software. When PGP Whole Disk Encryption starts, it checks the registry for conflicts with an installed SafeBoot driver. If a SafeBoot driver entry is found in the registry, encryption will stop and PGP Desktop displays the error. This occurs if SafeBoot fails to remove all registry entries when uninstalling the software.
To resolve this issue, delete the SafeBoot entry from the Windows Registry.
