When attempting to encrypt your system with PGP Whole Disk Encryption, you receive an error stating there is full disk encryption software installed.
This issue can appear on HP computers with the HP ProtectTools software installed. The HP ProtectTools software includes a disk encryption feature that can conflict with PGP Whole Disk Encryption.
When PGP Whole Disk Encryption starts, it checks the Windows registry for conflicts with installed encryption software. If another encryption driver entry is found in the registry, PGP Whole Disk Encryption will stop and PGP Desktop displays the error.
To resolve this issue, uninstall HP ProtectTools software or disable the Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools option if possible.
