After installing PGP Desktop 10.x on a system with BeCrypt 4.2.12, upon rebooting, the computer crashes and Windows fails to load.
This issue can occur due to an incompatibility with PGP WDE and BeCrypt DISK Protect. This happens even when the PGP WDE feature is not being utilized and using PGP Desktop 10.x for email encryption only.
To workaround this issue, you can install PGP Desktop 10.x without the PGP WDE functionality and then remove a PGP registry entry on the system.
Use the following steps as workaround to the issue:
Install PGP Desktop from the command line using the following msiexec option:
Delete the Pgpwdefs folder from the Windows Registry. Use the directions below for your operating system.
