When attempting to create a PGP NetShare folder, you receive the following PGP NetShare error:
You are attempting to protect a file or folder that no one will be able to manage. Please assign an administrator before you attempt to encrypt the file or folder.
This error appears when adding keys to a PGP NetShare folder that do not include a key that can be used as an administrator key. This can occur when attempting to only add public keys to the folder. A PGP NetShare folder requires that a PGP keypair (Private & Public key) is added to the folder to act as an admin key. By default, the first keypair added to the folder is specified as the admin key.
To resolve this error, you must add a PGP key which includes a private and public key.
Beginning with PGP Desktop 9.7, PGP NetShare allows you to specify roles for a user key. These roles include Admin, Group Admin, and User.
An PGP NetShare Admin can add and remove users and Group Admins, and to make sure that the activity in the Protected Folder is going as planned.
