This article details how an administrator can unlock a user's Web Messenger account which has been locked due to number of failed login attempts by the user.
After a specified number of failed login attempts to PGP Universal Web Messenger, the user account locks and the user is shut out of the system. The user then receives an email message notifying them that their account is locked. The email message provides a URL which allows the user to log back in again. By default, the Web Messenger passphrase
Note: Administrators can also allow Web Messenger users to request a new passphrase via email. Click herefor a article on configuring Web Messenger Options.
This ensures that only the correct recipient of a message can log back in after multiple failed login attempts. If a user is locked out and fails to respond to the email, the administrator can unlock the account manually.
Login to the PGP Universal Server admin interface.
Click Consumers > Users and then select the External Users button.
Select the user and then click Authentication.
Next to Passphrase, click Change. The Change Passphrase screen is displayed.
Type and confirm a new passphrase then click Save.
Inform the user of the new passphrase.
