SCR 331 reader is not working. GE cannot recognize this reader on preboot.
People who are already using SCR 331 readers for a while most of the readers in previous were SCR 331 nonCCID USB readers which only works on windows platforms and therefore is not supported on our PBA screen as our GE PBA is based on Linux.
They can verify that by going to the following link.
However, if you check on the above link again you can also find that SCR 331 CCID USB is supported on all kinds of environment including Linux- that we require for our GE PBA screen in order to read the card with that reader.
Update the firmware to make non-CCID to CCID compliant.
Select the SCR331/SCR531 CCID USB and Select the Operating System on the right that they will be using.
For instance if they select XP 32 bit OS then it will take to the next screen to select ? iread and accept the EULA and click NEXT
From next page download and save the SCR331/SCR531 CCID USB Firmware.
From the Saved folder and open the FwUpdate.ini with notepad.
Once you open the FwUpdate.ini go to the last line and delete the ";" and space which is right before ?SKIPDEVICEIDMATCHING=YES and then save the file.
After that run the FwUpdate.exe which will update the FW and you should be good to go to use the reader.
