How do you exclude Sygate database folders from Symantec Endpoint Protection scans? How to configure these exclusions from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) rather than each individual database server?
Determine the location where Sygate data files (.db files) are stored on the server in your organization.
Open and log into the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM)
On the left pane, click Policies
In the middle pane, under View policies, click Centralized Exceptions.
Under tasks, click add a centralized exceptions policy.
In the Centralized exceptions policy window, in the left pane, click Overview
In the right pane, in the Policy name text box, type exclusion policy name
In the left pane, click centralized exceptions
In the right pane, click Add > Security Risk Exception > Folder.
In the add security risk folder exception dialog box, in the folder text box, type the path to the Sygate data files.
Technical Information Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) cannot scan proprietary database files. To enhance performance and avoid any chance of corruption or files being locked when the Sybase service must use them, administrators are recommended to create exclusions to prevent scanning of the directories containing these database files.
