You get this error when trying to query any datasource in BVC- Oracle: "unable to establish connect with the database." ORA-12545 target host or object does not exist.
Error message you see: "unable to establish connect with the database." ORA-12545 target host or object does not exist.
This is a generic oracle error message - You would typically get this error if you are trying to connect to an Oracle server ( SID ) that does not exist. If you are not aware of what the SID is , you can check the TNSNAMES file try connecting using the service name that the oracle server uses.
This can also be caused from a host name resolution issue. Please ensure that you are able to resolve the asset name to IP address on the CCS Manager.
Check the name of the SID that you have used to configure in the product. Most often it is observed that the name of the SID provided in the configuration setup does not actually exist. Check the TNSNAMES and LISTENER files to verify if you have the correct data entered in the configuration.
