X-Brightmail-Tracker is not present in message that is delivered after being held in a Quarantine Incident folder.
This issue has been addressed with the Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) version 10.0.0 release. Messages delivered to content incident and quarantine folders will now contain the expected X-Brightmail-Tracker header.
For released prior to SMG v10.0.0
Messages that generate Informational Incidents will still contain an X-Brightmail-Tracker header although copies of the message forwarded from the incident folder will similarly not contain the X-Brightmail-Tracker header.
One way to verify that a message has been processed by Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) is to look at the X-AuditID header field in the header section of the message and then use that Audit ID to search the Message Audit Logs. If the message has been processed by SMG, the Message Audit Logs will show details about the message including the Brightmail Tracker.
If searches for the Audit ID do not return any results then Message Audit Logging may not have been enabled when the message was filtered. Message Audit Logging may be enabled via the following procedure:
Log into the Control Center as an administrator
Navigate to Administration > Settings > Logs
Select the "Enable message audit logs" checkbox
Click "Save" to save the configuration
Choose whether to restart the MTA immediately or at a later time to enable audit logging at the next MTA restart.
