"Failed to initialize secure connection from client..." messages appear in the ibmslapd.log file, and you want to know if this is a problem or cause for alarm.
Example of an entry from the ibmlsapd.log file:
[hostname] Failed to initialize secure connection from client (connection ID: XXXX, IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX, Port: XXXX).....The underlying secure socket was closed.
These messages are of no consequence and are expected behavior. They occur when a test connection is made to ensure that the port is still open on the target machine. Since no data is actually sent, the socket is eventually closed, which is what this message is referring to.
