MSI (s) (80:E8) [09:11:31:140]: Product: Symantec Mail Security 8.0 for Domino -- Removal failed.
When a Domino server is installed but never started since, its main configuration file (notes.ini) does not contain a parameter required by SMSDOM for its removal.
This issue has been resolved in version 188.8.131.52 and higher. If you are experiencing this issue, please upgrade to the latest version of Symantec Mail Security for Domino.
For previous versions of 184.108.40.206, below workaround is available.
Workaround In order to resolve this problem and be able to silently uninstall SMSDOM, please consider taking the following steps:
Rename the notes.ini to notes.ini.bak or
Add the parameter "KeyFileName" to the notes.ini file
Note: This can only happen if Domino was not configured after being installed. The admin should complete the Domino configuration process and make sure it starts with no problems prior to installing SMSDOM in order to prevent errors like this. If errors are found correct those also first prior to installing SMSDOM.
