You are using a Windows IME (Input Method Editor) to enter simplified chinese characters into some fields of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console. The console closes unexpectedly, and a JVM (Java Virtual Machine) crash dump file is generated
The JVM crash dump file will be found in the following folder:
...\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\hs_err_pidxxx.log
These symptoms have been observed with the Intelligent ABC and Sogou PinYin IMEs. Symantec is aware of this problem and continues to research it.
This article will be updated when new information is available.
To work around this problem, it is recommended that you remove and do not use the Intelligent ABC and Sogou PinYin IMEs. Other choices commonly used are Google Pinyin IME, QuanPin IME, Microsoft PinYin IME, etc.
Language keyboard layout/IME services can be added/removed in the Windows Regional and Language Options, under the Languages tab, Details.
