Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1: Content moniker mapping for updating legacy clients with third-party distribution tools
Last Updated April 22, 2015
To use third-party distribution tools to distribute Endpoint Protection content to client computers, you need to refer to a set of GUIDs called "content monikers". Each content moniker corresponds to a particular content type. Depending on the protection features that you have installed, you need to determine which of the content types you need.
You can see a mapping of monikers to content type for the current version of Endpoint Protection by viewing the ContentInfo.txt file on the Endpoint Protection Manager. But you need to know the content moniker mapping for updating legacy clients.
The attached Excel spreadsheet tracks all of the content monikers used by Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.
For further information and instruction, please see "Using third-party distribution tools to update client computers" in the Implementation Guide PDF.
