Services "Brightmail Engine" and "MTA" fail to start in Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG)

Services "Brightmail Engine" and "MTA" fail to start. Manually starting them in SMG console also fails. After connecting to SMG server via SSH, it is found that the file /data/scanner/jobs/bmserver/bmserver.pid does not exist, while it should be there.
The error below shows in console > status > logs:
 kicker: can not open bmserver pid file /data/scanner/jobs/bmserver/bmserver.pid: No such file or directory.
The file is missing unexpectedly.
After rebooting the SMG server, the file will recover and the 2 services will start without problems.
