Messages that utilize the eFax service are being caught as unscannable.
The messages are triggering unscannable due to malformed MIME.
From samples that have been reviewed, the messages do have malformed MIME. The issue is not with the Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) appliance, but rather with whatever process is creating the original email.
It is recommended to communicate with the vendor that created the original email to help determine the source of the issue.
A workaround can be provided by Symantec technical support that can make the SMG scanning more lenient to allow these messages to pass malformed MIME detection. If you would like more information on this workaround, please contact Symantec technical support.
