After running an 'Import Patch Data for Windows' the catalog.xml file located in C:\Program Files\Altiris\Patch Management\Packages\WindowsVulnerabiltyScan is empty or missing.
Description: Failed to generate catalog files: Could not find stored procedure 'spPMWin_SoftwareReleases'.
Symantec is aware of this known issue. The issues has been tentatively addressed in the Patch Management Solution 7.1 Sp2 release.
To fix the issue on Patch Management Solution 7.1 Sp1; two config files are attached. First perform a full backup of the Symantec_CMDB database.
1. Copy/replace the "PatchManagementCore_ReportPack_PostInstallSQL.config" file in the "?:\Program Files\Altiris\Patch Management\Core\Config" directory. Make a backup of the Original file prior to overwriting it.
1.1 Change directory to the "?:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\" path.
1.2 Run the "<drive>:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\AeXConfig.exe" /configure "<drive>:\Program Files\Altiris\Patch Management\Core\Config\PatchManagementcore.config" command.
2. Copy/replace the "PMWin_DAL_Import.config" file in the "?:\Program Files\Altiris\Patch Management\Windows\Config" directory. Make a backup of the Original file prior to overwriting it.
2.1 Start a new Administrator command-line.
2.2 Change directory to the "?:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\" path.
2.3 Run the "?:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\AeXConfig.exe" /configure "?:\Program Files\Altiris\Patch Management\Windows\Config\PatchManagement.config" command to reconfigure the Patch Management for Windows with the new fix.
Note that the Installation path may be different on a given environment.
The expected result is that there are no errors during the Patch Data Import for Windows due to missing stored procedures.
