Update a PGP Desktop for Mac OS X Stand-alone Client to use a PGP Universal Server

This article details how to bind a stand-alone PGP Desktop for Mac OS X client to a PGP Universal Server.
To bind a stand-alone Mac OS X client to a PGP Universal Server, you must delete the PGP Preferences for the client and then update the PGPSTAMP in the configuration string to move the client to the new server.
Exit PGP Desktop and then quit the PGPengine service by opening Utilities > Activity Monitor.
Remove the PGP Desktop preferences by opening the terminal application and running the following command:
Update the client to the new server using:
defaults write com.pgp.pgp configurationString "ovid=keys.<universal server name>.com&mail=*&admin=1"
To see the current PGPSTAMP, type the following command:
# defaults read com.pgp.pgp configurationString
To delete the PGPSTAMP, type the following:
# defaults delete com.pgp.pgp configurationString
