Error in Control Compliance Suite: "Failed to retrieve collected data from SQL".
Last Updated January 23, 2012
Error is received if the job run contains an evaluation job against data collected for an asset(s). Collection-Evaluation-Report jobs are also subject to this error.
The evaluation job is running against an asset(s) which hasn’t had data for that standard collected. This can be verified by looking at the asset in asset management, select the "data collection" tab and verify there is a collection for that standard.
If this error is occurring during an evaluation against multiple assets, it could be that the data is not coming back from the data collector being used. Therefore there is no data in SQL to retrieve and thus the error.
To test this, try running just a data collection job against the asset or assets with the same standard and see if results were returned in the Job Summary tab for that job. If no result sets were returned, there may be an issue with the data collection job on the data collector. To track this down further, verbose DPS or CCS Manager logs can be generated to see if a result set XML file is coming back from the data collector. See KBs on using the CCSDiag utility to turn on verbose logging.
