"SEE has discovered an unsupported storage controller, contact SEE Tech Support.” after installing Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE) client on Dell latitude E6320
"SEE has discovered an unsupported storage controller, contact SEE Tech Support.”
This issue with Dell Latitude E 6320 can be resolved by upgrading to the SEE 8.2 HF1 using the "Enable Configuration for Specific Hardware" Customization method
Please follow the Steps as mentioned below:-
While Creating the Client Package from the Server (full Disk) Check mark the "Enable Configuration for Specific Hardware"
If you check on “Enable configuration for specific hardware” you will get the following— where you need to fill out exactly the way you have on system info of that machine
So you fill out the Manufacturer and model just like ms info(in this Case the MSINFO is taken of Dell Inc. Model Number Latitude E 6320 as an example) like below print screen- ( in this case we have selected USB 2.0 and IRQ Poll )
Once you have created the Hardware customization you need to click OK and on then check the machine and click NEXT to go for next configuration.
Install this package along with the Framework Client Package created earlier. This will resolve the issue and the Laptop should boot fine and Complete the Encryption successfully.
Applicable to All Environments housing the SEE Enigma 8.2
