DCInterface adds a new instance of the stunnel service every time it restarts
Last Updated October 13, 2011
Every time the Symantec Domain Controller service is restarted, it generated a new instance of the stunnel service. Multiple instances of stunnel create an issue. (work in progress)
The installation of DCInterface as detailed into the SWG documentation assigns the Symantec Domain Controller Interface Log on to the Local System Account. By using this account, DCInterface is not able to stop the running stunnel service properly.
Symantec is investigating this issue and will update this article when more information become available.
Modify the Log on as: option on the Symantec Domain Controller Interface service to use any user account with Administrator rights.
DCInterface 4.5.4 installed on a Windows 2003 Domain Controller.
The issue doesn't occur on Windows 2008.
