Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange aborts the installation stating the service account has no mailbox present.
"service account has no mailbox"
Symantec has identified this issue can be caused by one of the following - The service account has no mailbox in the Active Directory as outlined in the implementation guide - The installation files are on a shared volume or a local physical media (CD Rom/DVD Rom). - The account used to install SMSMSE does not have sufficient permissions
Perform the following to resolve the issue: 1. Create a mailbox for the SMSMSE service account 2. The installation media must be copied to a physical drive on the local system. 3. The domain account used to install SMSMSE must be a Domain Administrator. 4. User Account Control should be disabled or the Symantec Mail Security setup must be ran as administrator (right-click and choose the drop down Run As Administrator) on the setup.exe file.
