Is there a diagnostic tool for Symantec Protection for SharePoint Servers 6.0?
The attached tool is the diagnostic tool to use with Symantec Protection for SharePoint 6.0 to troubleshoot customer issues. Below are general steps to use with the diagnostic tool:
1. Copy the diagnostic tool to the SharePoint server(s) that are running the SPSS console, at least to the server that is seeing the reported issue. The diagnostic tool is password protected, the password is "symc".
2. Run/execute the tool from a windows command prompt. Please note that by default the tool is configured to NOT gather the sharepoint logs. Please change the command line to read "-sharepointlogs Yes" rather than the default of "-sharepointlogs No" (without the quotes), i.e., symantec_diagnostic -sharepointlogs yes -eventlogs yes -symanteclogs yes
3. The tool will generate an output folder, named "Symantec_log", in the directory it was executed from.
Once the tool has been run on the customer's SharePoint server(s), provide the results to Support for analysis. Note: Attached to this KB is the License Agreement and the EULA for the diagnostic tool. This License Agreement is a click-through agreement and the user is required to accept the agreement prior to providing the tool to the customer. For more information on the tool, please see the attached readme. Again, the diagnostic tool is password protected, "symc".
