You are trying to login the Symantec Scan Engine Console 5.x/Symantec Protection Engine 7.x but a Windows Dialog box the error below comes up after entering the password:
Error:"Connection closed by Symantec Scan Engine. Please Log-In again"
The connection between the Scan Engine and to the local Java environment has been lost. It can occurr due to several reasons: - The Java version on the server has been changed/updated - The Java cache is full - The Java Path is not set in the OS System Variables - Unsupported Java version - Unsupported XML change - The Scan Engine service is overloaded with connection requests from the Connector/Filer - Browser issues - The regional language/format is set to non-english
Open the JAVA Applet in the Control Panel and UNCHECK the option Control Panel -> JAVA Applet -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings -> "Keep temporary files on my computer" and restart the Symantec Scan Engine Service.
If this does not resolve the issue a reinstall of Java may be neccessary. Be sure to remove all versions of Java from the system and delete the Java directory under Program Files.
Also ensure that the correct path to the Java bin folder is set in the OS System Variable. For example if Java 1.7 is installed the path should be ;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin
