SWG Proxy does not retain LDAP information from end users when end users are logged in with a local computer account
Last Updated November 02, 2011
When you log into a test computer with a local account, the browser prompts you with a request for domain account credentials. You enter the credentials and seem to authentication successfully. The Custom Reports page of the Symantec Web Gateway (SWG) appliance seems to show a log entry for the first page you download with the browser, but log entries for subsequent page hits do not display the LDAP username or other LDAP details.
For Symantec Web Gateway (SWG) appliance to successfully retain the registration of domain credentials, both SWG appliance and the test computer must join the domain.
Log into the test machine with a domain account instead of a local account.
- SWG appliance 5.0.x is in either Proxy or Inline+Proxy mode
