Error : "Not Accessible" for “OS Type” field when importing Windows Machine Asset in CCS10.5 Reporting and Analytics. As a result Machine could not be imported in the Asset System. Same error comes up when running queries from the RMS console.
The 'Remote Registry' Service is not running on the target Windows Machine.
Start the 'Remote Registry' Service on the target Windows Machine. Run the machines Asset import job and this time it should work fine.
On the target box, click on Start >> Run and type in 'Services.msc'. This will bring up the `Services' dialog.
Navigate the list of services until you find the 'Remote Registry' service.
Right-click on the service and select Properties.
From the General tab which opens by default, select Automatic from the 'Start type' drop-down provided and click Start.
Click OK to save your settings and close the dialog.
NOTE: This dependency on the 'Remote Registry' service has been removed 2011-PCU-4 for Data Collection. So installing 2011-PCU-4 will also resolve this issue. For more details, please refer to Page 14 & 15 in the attached pdf document.
