How do I translate the IP_ADDR columns in the SEPM database?
Last Updated September 11, 2012
How do I translate the IP_ADDR data in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) database into a human readable format?
The IP addresses stored in many tables inside the SEPM database are stored as bigint data. To convert this number into a readable IP address format, you can use the following SQL statement:
select CONVERT(varchar,ip_addr1/(256*256*256))+'.'+ CONVERT(varchar,ip_addr1%(256*256*256)/(256*256))+'.'+ CONVERT(varchar,ip_addr1%(256*256)/256)+'.'+ CONVERT(varchar,ip_addr1%256) as IP_ADDRESS, computer_name from sem5.sem5.sem_computer
The output will be in the common readable form of 192.168.137.132 instead of 3232270724.
