When using http downloads for large files the IIS logs may grow to a large size

There is no error as such, however the IIS log will have frequent 206 events for the same package. The package will typically consists of many individual segments that can be downloaded separately.

Using http for downloading packages may cause some large packages to download in many stages for each client generating large IIS logs with '206' partial content events for the package. The issue is not a problem in itself however logging can be switched off for the package

Open IIS > expand Web Sites > Default Web Site > Altiris > Packages > right click the guid for the package > left click Properties > Virtual Directory tab > clear Log visits check box
