Computer will not boot after PGP Whole Disk Encryption with Zenworks installed

After encrypting a computer with PGP Whole Disk Encryption, a black screen with a cursor may appear and booting the system is not possible.
This boot issue will occur due to an incompatibility between PGP Whole Disk Encryption and ZENworks Image-safe Data (ZISD)
PGP Whole Disk Encryption puts a type of "marking" on the initial sectors of the disk. This is done to provide booting logic for the PGP BootGuard File System and the system can then boot up properly.
Modifying the PGP markings that PGP Whole Disk Encryption creates causes the computer to fail to load PGP BootGuard properly. Also, having other non-standard markings on the disk prior to PGP Whole Disk Encryption may cause encryption to fail. Zenworks uses a method that interferes with the PGP BootGuard boot method and prevents proper booting of the system.
Uninstalling Zenworks will not necessarily remove the markings that it puts on the disk so a tool such as FIXMBR may be needed to restore the Windows MBR back to what it needs.
If Zenworks has been installed on the computer, do not attempt to encrypt the computer with PGP Whole Disk Encryption. If PGP Whole Disk Encryption is needed, fully remove Zenworks from the computer and run a FIXMBR prior to encrypting with PGP Whole Disk to eliminate any possibility of booting issues.
It is recommended to ensure proper backups are made in case there are further issues between the two pieces of software.
