How to configure Java LiveUpdate 3.6 in Scan Engine or Protection Engine to update virus definitions from an internal LiveUpdate 2.x Administrator server

You can configure Java LiveUpdate via the ConfigEditor to use a host file that will set Java LiveUpdate to use your internal LiveUpdate distribution center(s).
First, you must generate the host file from the LiveUpdate Administration server. Go to “Configure”, “Client Settings” and click on “Export Java Settings”. It will generate a file called “liveupdt.hst”. Copy this file to the Scan Engine server.
Now you must configure Java LiveUpdate to use the “liveupdt.hst file” via the ConfigEditor. In order to edit values in the encrypted configuration file, Java LiveUpdate 3.5 (and higher) ships with a configuration editor that can be invoked as follows:
