Issue/Introduction

 When running a Repair or Management Server Configuration Wizard, the process stops while in the wizard, with the error "Failed to install Management Server webserver service". 

Tomcat\ConfigurationWizard-0.log shows the following Event

Cause

 The file httpd.conf in 'Drive:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\apache\conf' contained 2 Listen ports defined. 

Resolution

Remove one of the Listen Lines

  1. Go to the Apache Conf folder
    Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\apache\conf
  2. Make a backup of the httpd.conf
  3. Edit the httpd.conf using Notepad
  4. Locate the Listen lines

    Listen 8014
    Listen 80

  5. Delete or disable the line Listen 80
  6. Save the httpd.conf

 

Re-run the  Repair or Management Server Configuration Wizard to complete installation.
