PGP Desktop (all versions and all features) running as a virtualized application on Microsoft App-V is not supported.
PGP Desktop 10.2.0 has also experienced significant incompatibility issues with Microsoft App-V.
There are several known issues surrounding compatibility with Microsoft App-V and PGP Desktop 10.2.0 including Blue Screen issues occurring on the system.
Even though it is not currently supported at this time, Symantec is working towards better virtualization support in a future product release. For more information on supported platforms, please see the PGP Desktop 10.2 release notes.
These Blue Screen issues mentioned have been resolved with PGP Desktop 10.2.1 MP3. In order to ensure proper functionality of systems running Microsoft App-V and PGP Desktop, please ensure PGP Desktop 10.2.1 MP3 or above has been installed.
Please note, running PGP Desktop 10.2.1 MP3 or above as a "Virtualized" application on Microsoft App-V is still unsupported.
There have been some reports that the 10.2.1 MP3 version is not resolving the issue on all systems and continued BSOD issues have been observed in addition to MS App-V instability. For more information on this issue, please see the following article:
