You want to know what mail header will be added after enabling BATV (Bounce Address Tag Validation) on Symantec Brightmail Gateway (SBG/SMG).
BATV is a feature introduced since Symantec Brightmail Gateway 8.x, aiming to protect your network from bounce attacks. For details on how to configure a seed value and activate BATV policy on controlcenter, refer the following chapters of 『Symantec Brightmail Gateway 8.0 Administration Guide』
"Configuring your Control Center for bounce attack prevention " on page 161. "Configuring your groups for bounce attack prevention" on page 161. "Creating an email spam policy for bounce attack prevention" on page 162.
After activating the BATV policy, the outbound mail, “mail from” envelope address is rewritten with a BATV tag (Example - prvs=KDDDSSSSSS) So firstname.lastname@example.org may become email@example.com with BATV tag
Notice: This header is recorded on ENVELOPE SMTP header only, so there will be no mail header added and it's not possible to confirm after the mail have been received.
Since SBG 8.x
