Messaging Gateway

Issue/Introduction

Learn how to create a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR) in Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG).

Resolution

  1. In the Messaging Gateway Control Center, navigate to Administration > Certificates > TLS & HTTP Certificates > Add.
  2. In the Certificate type drop-down list, click Certification Authority Signed.
  3. Fill in all the details, and click Request
  4. Copy the block of text that appears.
  5. In a text editor, paste the copied text into a new file, and save the file.
  6. Contact your Certificate Authority (CA) and provide them with the CSR. The CA will create your new certificate and send it to you.
  7. Import the new certificate into Messaging Gateway; the certificate should be in a .pem format.
  8. Update the HTTPS and TLS settings for Messaging Gateway with the newly imported certificate.
