Issue/Introduction

Control Compliance Suite is returning an error similar to the ones below when running a data collection job or query.

Error : "Failed while setting sudo mode on target. The Error returned is: sudo: /etc/sudoers is mode 0777, should be 0440."

Or

Error : "Failed while setting sudo mode on target. The Error returned is: sudo: pam_open_session: Module is unknown=0D=0D=0Asudo: policy plugin failed session initialization=0D"

Environment

CCS 12.6.X

Resolution

CCS needs to be able to run the sudo command when sudo is enabled.
If there are any errors/configuration issues in running sudo, those errors will be returned instead of successfully executing the command.

Configuration for CCS agentless data collection on UNIX targets

Validate that the sudo command is able to be run under the configured user for data collection on each asset where the above error (or similar) is being returned.
