Changing the timeout period for staying logged on to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console

You need to know how to extend the timeout on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) web console.

The timeout for the SEPM web console is controlled through your browser settings. There is no setting within SEPM to control this time-out.

Modify the browser timeouts as follows:

• Internet Explorer: Follow Microsoft’s KB 813827 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813827) to change the Registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSettings.
• Mozilla Firefox:
  1. In the address bar type “About:Config” (Without quotemarks) 
  2. Accept the warning 
  3. Search for the line named “Network.http.keep-alive.timeout” and change its value.
• Google Chrome and Safari: Does not have the option to change this parameter.
