How to determine the Symantec VIP Enterprise Gateway version

Issue/Introduction

Unable to determine the version of VIP  Enterprise Gateway installed. 

Resolution

  • All consoles up to version 9.3 look like below (Legacy maroon colors). These installs contain a versions.txt file in the installation folder with the version installed  (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\VIP_Enterprise_Gateway\version.txt). The path is based on default installation, but it could be different from user-to-user installation procedure.



     
  • Enterprise Gateway 9.8.4 and onward looks like below (Symantec-themed colors). The major version for 9.8.4 and onwards can be found on the bottom of the VIP EG console home page. The minor version can still be located in the version.txt file (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\VIP_Enterprise_Gateway\version.txt).

    Note -> For version 9.10 and onwards the default location in Windows is C:\Program Files\Symantec\VIP_Enterprise_Gateway\version.txt.
