When clicking on the "Verify Connection" button in the IT Analytics Configuration for the Report Server Virtual Directory URL, the error "Error Saving Reporting Server:The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database." occurs.

The SQL Server Reporting database does not exist or its settings are incorrect.

1. On the SQL Server that manages the SSRS, click on the Windows Start button > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 > Configuration  Tools > Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
2. Click on the Connect button, after making any necessary changes to the login settings if necessary.
3. Click on Database.
4. Under Current Report Server Database, if the values are blank or incorrect, click on the Change Database button. Then, follow the instructions to create or edit the database values.
5. Click on the Exit button.
