FEATURE REQUEST: Add extension based blacklists to Symantec File Share Encryption functionality
Last Updated July 12, 2013
When using Symantec File Share Encryption protected folders with growing subfolder structure, you need to exclude some files based on file type extension and not based on folder/subfolder path.
This feature request would help to introduce extension based blacklist for Symantec File Share Encryption (formerly PGP Netshare) and Symantec Encryption Management Server (formerly PGP Universal Server).
Currently blacklists are based on folder path. This path may be a local path or UNC network path, but not the file type extension.
Nevertheless there are several hard-coded entries that include:
*.SKR, *.PKR, and *.PGD files in any location.
PGP installation folder.
PGP Preference folder.
PGP Default Keyring folder.
