Task Server job causes System.Threading.ThreadAbortException
Last Updated March 30, 2007
Task Server job causes System.Threading.ThreadAbortException. A severe performance impact on the server accompanies the error.
Error in a.log: Process: w3wp.exe (7924) Thread ID: 7004 Module: AltirisNativeHelper.dll Source: Altiris.ClientTask.* Description: An exception occurred while attempting to process jobs request. Error: System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted. at Altiris.Core.Sockets.SecureRemoting.SecureRemotingClient.SendRequestI(String service, Hashtable input) at Altiris.Core.Sockets.SecureRemoting.SecureRemotingClient.SendRequest(String service, Hashtable input) at Altiris.ClientTask.Server.Web.WebClientApiManager.ProcessGetTasksRequest(NameValueCollection queryValues, Stream requestStream, Int32 contentLength)
It seems that the Task Server has been deployed to the Notification Server after installing Altiris Task Managment.
Another possible cause is that the Task Server has not been added to the Approved Task Server list.
Removing the Task Server from the same computer as the Notification Server resolves the errors.
Be sure that the Task Server is on the Approved Task Server list. Also, ensure that the clients have been assigned a Task Server through the Task Server configuration page.
Applies To Notification Server 6.0.6074 (SP3) with the update KB23784 Task Management 6.0.1354
