Microsoft Outlook Crashes/Freezes after the installation of Symantec Encryption Desktop Client and after /during the Whole Disk Encryption process.
In Event Viewer after the outlook crash, it generates an error : The faulty application is “PGPmspst.dll” location “C:\Program Files\PGP Corporation\PGP Desktop”. The error code could vary between erro code 1000 - 1004.
1. Decrypt the disk if it is already encrypted.
2. Exit PGP services.
3. If the Symantec Encryption Desktop is not being used for email encryption, delete/rename or move the PGPmspst.dll file to a different location before starting the encryption.
4. Restart Symantec Encryption Desktop and Microsoft outlook.
PS This Solution is applicable only if the user is not using email encryption.
Symantec Encryption Desktop installed Standalone or in managed environment in windows 7.
