In the Symantec Installation Manager (SIM), the Symantec Management Platform (SMP) version shows 7.1.1 rather than 7.1.2 MP1.1.
When attempting to reinstall a missing msi file, this message appeared: "This MSI must be run by the installer framework." SIM reports the wrong version of SMP - it does not reflect what is actually installed. Other suites still identify as 7.1.2 MP1.1.
"This MSI must be run by the installer framework."
Uninstalling certain msi files (for example, the credential manager msi file) causes the Symantec Installation Manager to identify that an older version of the product is installed, instead of the current one.
1. Reinstall the msi by running it through the command line as administrator, adding " skipaim=1" after the command. For the credential manager msi file, the command used is: C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris\altiris_credentialmanager_7_1_sp2_x64 skipaim=1
2. Follow the prompts by continuing, accepting the End-User License Agreement (EULA), clicking "Next" when requested, and then "Finish".
3. After launching SIM again, it will show the correct version.
