Last Updated March 06, 2015
When using File Share Encryption feature of Symantec Encryption Desktop (former Netshare feature of PGP Desktop) with application based encryption you may achieve encryption of all files created by respective application, but at the same time you are unable to restrict decryption of the file for all other application due to a numerous names of applications which may be used by your user.
A practical example of this issue is an encryption of AutoCad files with File Share and prevention of decryption of the applications when FireFox, Opera, Safari, DropBox or other application is being used for file upload to a internet based / cloud storage.
This feature request will help to introduce the option like "Prevent the automatic decryption of files by all applications except the following" for Symantec File Share Encryption.
Currently such feature is not implemented in Symantec Encryption Desktop
