Error while running “Memory Configuration by Computer” report
Last Updated February 11, 2015
This message is seem in the SMP logs:-
Arithmetic overflow converting expression to data type int
Inv_HW_Physical_Memory_Array has a really small [Max Capacity] column data size which is int. We are using SUM in the report and there is a resources which has 4 memory modules with 536870912 KB each. So in total 4 x 536870912 = 2147483648 and such a big value requires bigint
To fix the issue it's enough to convert the data size from int to bigint this way:
ALTER TABLE Inv_HW_Physical_Memory_Array ALTER COLUMN [Max Capacity (Kilobytes)] bigint
The query above will not destroy existing data, however please ask the customer to have a full DB backup before they run it.
------------------------------------- Fixed in 7.5, the Max Capacity type was changed to Bigint.
