The Home, Monitors and Reports tabs fail to display in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console when File Deduplication is installed
Last Updated April 26, 2014
After installing the Data Deduplication service to a Windows Server 2012 or higher computer and optimizing the file system, an error message is displayed when logging in to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) console, and the Home, Monitors and Reports tabs do not display.
Upon logging in to the SEPM console, the following error message is displayed:
Unexpected Server Error. ErrorCode: 0x10010000
This problem occurs because of an incompatibility between the PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) engine and the Reparse and Sparsefile flags the Microsoft Data Deduplication service uses to provide its services.
To work around this problem, do one of the following:
Remove the Data Duplication service from the computer after reverting any optimizations performed.
Revert the changes made to the file system by running an unoptimization, create an exclusion in the Data Deduplication service for the PHP file extension, and re-run the optimization.
