In environments with very large numbers of managed resources (>50k), the membership of any filter (including built-in filters) is not displayed in the console. Running the SQL query sent by the filter directly against the Symantec CMDB returns the expected number of resources
No error is displayed, just the standard message the 'no members' in the Filter Membership frame. The Altiris Log Viewer and Altiris Profiler indicate no deadlocks or execution issues
Filter memberships are dependent on the internal legacy picker report for their parameters. These reports retrieve the parameter value, 'ReportMaxRowCount = 50,000' from the C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SMP\Settings\CoreSettings.config file and insert it into the SQL to be executed on the Symantec CMDB as the maxrowcount parameter in the query. If the number of rows in the query result exceeds 50,000 no results are returned to the NS console.
Setting ReportMaxRowCount = 0 in the C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SMP\Settings\CoreSettings.config file will allow an unlimited number of rows to be returned to the NS console and allow the filters to populate normally.
