Failure of data collection if netbios name resolution is not enabled between target windows machines and the CCS Manager
In order to properly collect data from target Windows machines, the NETBIOS name resolution should be enabled for communication between target windows machine and the CCS Manager used as Windows data collector otherwise the data collections would fail. Currently, CCS does not support FQDN name resolution for communication between the said parties
The aforesaid behavior is by product design. CCS internal system calls use / depend on netbios resolution method to communicate with the target windows machines for data collections
The concern for enabling FQDN name resolution to be used for data collections on Windows machines has been raised to the product management, and its probable implementation in CCS is under review
